Convert or Die

According to BBC News the two captured Fox News journalists in Palestine were forced to convert to Islam. Apparently the group that captured them vowed that any non-Muslims entering their territory would either be shot or face conversion to Islam. This kinda reminds me of watching Stargate SG-1, where the USAF crack team is facing up against their latest threat – the Ori.

The Ori are a group or semi-enlightend beings who enslave the easy-to-make-believe to wage war on all non-so-easily-converted. In short, life imitating art. Or wait, maybe it’s the other way round.

This not being an easy subject, I shall refrain from making fun of it. Since the US ownz the Net one has to be careful making trademark sarcastic remarks online

One day we will all look back onto these terrible times of terrorism, bushism and blairism. To our children it may seem like an episode of Stargate or, worse, Star Trek The Next Generation.
